Dogs on the Backs of Utes 11

This is Miley and Thunder. Thunder is a Neopolitan Mastiff puppy. On this day he’d just had his vaccination shots. He was very good at the vet’s. Beautiful Miley, like most dogs on the backs of utes, was very concerned to avoid eye contact with me. She’s a sweet and gentle girl.

Miley and Thunder live at the pub in Gundy, the famous Linga Longa Inn. But I met them in the car park at Woollies in Scone. I asked Terry, the publican, where he got Thunder from, and was surprised to learn that he was bred in Gundy. He was one of a litter of ten, a lucky one, who has escaped a life as a pig hunter.

The only problem Thunder had with making eye contact was keeping his eyes open! He was a tired boy and those lids were very heavy.
